Some love stories begin with a glance across a crowded room. Miranda and Jeffrey's began across a cadaver lab, over late-night study guides, and somewhere between board exams and barely-there sleep schedules. It's not the most conventional beginning — but then again, neither is falling in love with your best friend while both of you are chasing one of the most demanding careers a human being can pursue.

That, we think, makes it all the more beautiful.

When Medical School Became the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Them

Miranda and Jeff met in medical school — the kind of place where you learn very quickly who a person really is. There is no curating yourself when you're surviving on four hours of sleep, your pager won't stop buzzing, and the pressure of becoming a physician sits on your chest like a physical weight. And yet somehow, in the middle of all of it, these two found each other.

Jeff, by all accounts, was the one who taught Miranda how to breathe. He had this gift — a lightness about him — that refused to let the weight of medical school become heavier than it needed to be. He could make her laugh in the middle of a crisis. He reminded her, again and again, that not every little thing in life deserved the full force of her intensity. And Miranda? She gave him something equally precious: direction. Focus. The quiet discipline of someone who knew that gymnastics and studying were, in their own way, the same skill — showing up, doing the hard thing, doing it again.

They thrived together. Being goofy together. Surviving together. And somewhere in the laughter and the long nights and the way he kept noticing her smile — days turned into years.

A Proposal, A Residency, and a Floridian Dream

By the time Jeff knew he couldn't imagine life without Miranda — and he had known for quite some time — the next big chapter was already approaching: residency. He chose that milestone as his moment. He proposed just as they were stepping into the next hard thing, together.

Residency brought them to sunny Florida, where the palm trees and the golden light felt like a quiet promise that life on the other side of the hard years was going to be extraordinary. They balanced grueling schedules with something new: planning a future. Planning a wedding.

It was a slow, patient process — because residency life doesn't pause for seating charts and floral arrangements. But neither of them minded. The extra years only deepened what they already knew about each other. Every long shift, every missed dinner, every quiet moment of choosing each other anyway — it all became part of the story they were building.

Now, with Jeff recently graduated from emergency medicine residency and Miranda set to complete her urology residency this June, they finally did it. They celebrated. Properly. With a Florida wedding worthy of everything they've earned.

A Paradise Cove Wedding on the Shores of Lake Bryan

They chose Paradise Cove Orlando — and we could not have imagined a more fitting backdrop for a love like theirs.

Tucked along the tranquil shores of Lake Bryan, just minutes from Disney Springs, Paradise Cove is one of Orlando's most quietly magical wedding venues. The stone ceremony aisle winds between cypress trees draped overhead, with the sandy shore stretching behind the altar and the water shimmering just beyond. Tiki torches. Market lights. The kind of warmth that feels earned, not manufactured.

Miranda walked down that stone aisle and the world seemed to slow down — the way it does when you witness something true. Jeffrey turned and saw her, and you could see it: the medical school boy who made her laugh, the man who held her hand through every residency shift, every sacrifice, every quiet Tuesday that made all of this possible — all of it was right there on his face.

They exchanged their vows on the waterfront, with Lake Bryan as their witness and the cypress trees holding the light just so.

The Celebration They've Always Deserved

The reception at Paradise Cove unfolded the way the best evenings always do — unhurried, layered with joy, full of people who genuinely love you. Under the palm-thatched cabana, with the market string lights glowing warm above and the lake reflecting it all back in silver, Miranda and Jeffrey danced.

They danced the way people dance when they've waited a long time for this moment. When they know what it cost. When they know exactly who they're celebrating with.

Doctors don't often talk about their love stories publicly — their lives are so consumed by other people's hardest moments that their own tenderness sometimes goes unseen. We felt privileged, as their photographers, to witness it. To hold it still. To make something they can hold in their hands and show their children and grandchildren one day.

That's what this is. Not just a wedding album. A record of two people who chose each other through all of it, and then threw a proper party about it.
