Orlando Wedding Photographer
We are Cecily and Domenico Castaldo, your Orlando wedding photographer team for the kind of day you actually want to live through, not pose through. For fifteen years we have photographed weddings in Florida, and we still get quiet when a father sees his daughter at the end of the hallway. If you want photographs that feel like you, not like a catalog, you are in the right place.
Orlando is home. We know this light in our bones. Hard noon on a hotel lawn. The ten minutes after a summer storm when the sky looks rinsed. Winter sun sitting low and gold across a courtyard. A ballroom that needs a careful hand. A garden that will do the work if you wait for it. We photograph downtown, at the lakes, at classic hotels, in small backyards, and at the big celebration venues, and we treat every one of them as a real place with a real couple in it.
We photograph as a pair
Two of us, all day, working quietly from different corners of the room. One of us is with you, the other is watching the people who love you. Nothing important happens in only one place, so we make sure it is never missed.
We are married, we have worked together for fifteen years, and we do not send substitutes or assemble a rotating crew. Two experienced photographers who know each other's habits cover a day very differently from a production team meeting for the first time that morning. One of us is usually with you; the other is already in the room where the next moment will happen.
What these photographs are for
They are for the years after. For the anniversary when you pull the album off the shelf, for the family who could not travel, for the children who will one day want to see what your faces looked like on this day.
That is also why we photograph the small things: the shoes your mother lent you, the handwriting in the vow book, the friend who cried before you did. Ten years from now the flowers will be a footnote, but the look on your father's face will not be. We edit for that, and we deliver images that will still read as honest, and unfashionable in the best way, when you open them a decade from now.
How an Orlando wedding day usually looks with us
We arrive while you are still getting ready and stay through the last song. Getting ready, the first look if you want one, ceremony, portraits in the best light we can find, dinner, toasts, dancing. We keep the pace calm and we keep you on time.
A typical full day with us runs eight to ten hours. We start with details and getting ready in both rooms, then a first look if you want one, or the aisle if you would rather wait. Ceremony coverage is quiet; we use long lenses and stay out of your guests' view. Afterward we take twenty to thirty minutes for portraits of the two of you, a tight and well-organized family session, and then the wedding party. Through dinner and toasts we hang back and watch faces, and once dancing starts we work close, because that is when people forget the cameras entirely.
Florida, specifically
Heat, humidity, and afternoon storms are part of the deal here. We plan around them. We carry water, we know the shaded spots, and we have a backup for the backup when the sky opens.
Practically, that means we scout the shade before you arrive, we know which courtyards hold light late, and we plan portrait time around the forecast rather than the schedule on paper. A summer storm is not a disaster; it is usually twenty minutes indoors and then the best sky of the evening. We carry towels and umbrellas, and we work with your planner so moving a ceremony under cover never feels like panic.
Who we are for
Couples who want their day to feel like theirs. People who would rather laugh than pose. Families with traditions that matter and deserve to be photographed carefully and correctly.
We are a good fit for couples who care more about how the day felt than about matching a trend, for families who want their parents and grandparents photographed with real attention, and for people planning anything from a twenty-person ceremony in a backyard to a four-hundred-guest celebration downtown. We are probably not the right fit if you want every moment staged and re-staged, or if you would like us to run the day like a director. We keep the day yours and photograph what actually happens inside it.
A few honest answers
Yes, we travel beyond Orlando. Yes, you get the full edited gallery with print rights. No, we will not rush your family through portraits.
How many photographs do we deliver? Usually several hundred fully edited images from a full day, in an online gallery you can share with family and download at full resolution. How long does editing take? A preview within a week, the full gallery in six to eight weeks during the busy season. Do we bring backup equipment? Always: two bodies each, duplicate lenses, spare batteries, and cards written twice so nothing lives in only one place. Do we photograph rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, and next-morning brunches? Yes, and they are often where the loosest photographs of the weekend happen. Do we need a shot list? Not a long one, but we do want your family portrait list in advance so nobody is hunted down during cocktail hour.
If this sounds like you
Tell us your date and where you are celebrating. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit, and if we are not, we will point you to someone who is.
Send us the date, the venue, and a sentence or two about the kind of day you are planning. We answer every note ourselves, usually within a day, and we will be straight with you about availability and about whether our way of photographing matches what you want.
